i have gained
more control over the things
that used to frighten me.
i have discovered
numbers do tell stories:
they can communicate
far faster than my eyes
far faster than my heart
far faster than my tongue.
numbers enveloped in rules
perform actions when time
isn’t on our side.
yet from our hands,
into our devices
we find comfort
in numbers
when we are too tired to try,
too busy to think
and sort through
data.
and in these processes
of exploration
of supervised
and/or
reinforcement learning
we are still
in/putting
pieces of ourselves
expecting
a different outcome.
